Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration used to fix teeth that have been broken, weakened by decay or contain a very large filling. A crown could be a good solution if you have some discoloured fillings and would like to improve their appearance. Crowns can be used to replace these to give you a more appealing smile.

Additionally, if you have had root canal treatment you will need a crown to protect or cap the restored tooth, allowing you to eat and bite down on it as if it was a real tooth. Crowns are also used to anchor a bridge or denture firmly in place in the mouth

Here is how it works:

  • A Digital impression is taken of the tooth that needs restoring.

  • A crown is made in our In house dental laboratory using our CEREC Technology to  fit the tooth precisely and match the neighbouring teeth.

Benefits of Crowns

  • Strengthens remaining tooth structure.

  • Natural-looking restoration.

  • Functions like a real tooth, so you can bite and chew as usual.

Dentures

If you have a few or all of your teeth missing, one solution is to have a denture. Dentures can be Full  (Replacing all the teeth) or Partial (Replacing only few teeth) they can be plastic or Metal partial dentures.

Here is how a denture works:

  • A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your mouth a natural appearance.

  • After impressions are taken, a denture is designed in a dental laboratory.

  • Dentures are made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove them for cleaning.

  • When you wear a denture for the first time it may take some getting used to when speaking or eating and chewing.  It is important that you take extra care when conducting your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Our hygienist will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this.

Benefits of Dentures

  • A solution to replacing several missing teeth.

  • Designed to give you a natural-looking smile.

Dental Implants

Have you lost all or some of your natural teeth? Bridges, dentures and flexible dentures are not the only solution, thanks to advances in modern dentistry. Have you heard of dental implants? Dental implants offer a clinically proven solution to getting a great smile back and being able to bite and chew with confidence.

This is how they work:

  • Dental implants are small Titanium screws that are placed in the jaw in place of a missing tooth.

  • Once established, crowns, bridges and dentures can be fixed onto the implants, creating a natural-looking and stable restoration.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • When you lose your natural teeth, your jaw bone and surrounding tissues start to resorb or disappear over time. When implants are placed in the jaw, it stimulates the remaining bone to grow and mesh around the metal, along with tiny blood vessels, preventing bone loss.

  • Retained bone structure prevents the face from acquiring a ‘sunken’ look.

  • Implants help restore function so you can eat, chew and bite as usual.

  • Implants are a natural-looking way to replace missing teeth.

  • Having dental implant treatment can be a life-changing experience. Our patients often comment about how different they feel when they look at their smiles in the mirror and many are surprised by how easy it is to bite and chew foods that they had previously avoided.

  • Depending on your dentition, you may require a bone graft to prepare the implant site a few months before they are placed.

  • The surgery itself is usually done in the dental chair and you will be given the option of having sedation if you feel particularly anxious. Although you will feel some pressure on your gums during the procedure, you will not feel any pain due to local anaesthesia. Our skilled team will make every effort to make you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout.

  • Once placed, you will need to take extra care of your teeth and gums to ensure they remain healthy and free of dental decay or gum diseases. It is important to understand that your implant will have to be looked after as if it was a natural tooth and that infections can arise if the proper regular hygiene is not carried out. With the help of our team you will be guided on how to best look after your implant so you can enjoy your new smile for years to come.

  • Enhanced quality of life.

  • Receive great care from the dental team throughout treatment.

  • Get a great new restored smile that you can show off to the world.

Implants for Replacing a Single or Multiple Teeth

If you have lost one or few  teeth, you may be wearing a partial denture. This can be a real burden, causing embarrassment, discomfort and generally having a real negative impact on your quality of life. Did you know you don’t have to eat soft foods or wear dentures for the rest of your life? Implants are a viable and clinically proven alternative to missing teeth.

Multiple teeth can be replaced with just a single implant. The implant screw can support a bridge of up to four teeth in a row, each stable and sturdy and guaranteed for life with good hygiene and maintenance.

Depending on the volume of jawbone, a dental implant and abutments can be placed on the same day or over a period of months. The implants will look and feel like your natural teeth.

After a period of healing, your implants will be fully integrated and will look, feel and function just like natural teeth.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • If missing teeth are not replace with implants the jawbone will recede, giving your face a sunken appearance. Implants give you a youthful boost.

  • You can bite or chew a variety of foods
