Our Story

Vasu and Karuna, Husband and wife team, started Dentist on Glasgow in Whanganui 12 years ago. They took over an established practice that had been started 20 years prior. Their vision is to deliver outstanding quality dental care to the people in the Whanganui community and the surrounding areas. Today they serve with ethical integrity, skill and empathy. They deliver quality dental care that is technologically advanced, pain free and affordable. They will continue to grow and foster their relationship with patients and the wider community.

Our Team

Dr Vasu Atluri

PRINCIPAL DENTIST

Dr Vasu Atluri has been a Dentist for over 20 years now. He was born and raised in India and he graduated from the university of Manipal in 2001.

He has been practising in Whanganui for over 12 years now. He moved here with his wife Karuna in 2008 for the beautiful lifestyle this small town offers. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but has a very strong interest in restorative and prosthetic dentistry using the latest digital and CAD CAM technology. He also has a strong liking for surgical side of dentistry.

Vasu and Karuna took over an existing practice in 2010 that had 2 operational surgeries and over the years they have grown in leaps and bounds. They now have four fully operational surgeries and a fully capable dental laboratory for the convenience of their patients.

Vasu and the team endeavour to provide their patients in Wanganui and surrounding areas with the very best of todays dental care.

Dr Karuna Atluri

PRINCIPAL DENTIST

Dr Karuna Atluri was born and raised in India.She Graduated in 2007 and upon completion of her New Zealand dental registration exams in 2010 joined the team at Dentist on Glasgow. She spent two years away from practice raising their 2 beautiful children-In that time she absolutely enjoyed being a mother and going to play centre.

Karuna became a dentist as she enjoys working with people and has a strong desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. She says its a rewarding experience to be a dentist especially when someone walks in with a toothache and walk out pain-free. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry whether it is helping you achieve your perfect smile or relieving you from pain.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys going for walks, reading books and Toastmasters.

Dr Han-Wei-Yeang

DENTIST

Dr Han was Born in Malaysia and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago in 2017.He prioritises the best interests of his patients and aims to make every dental visit a comfortable one. Han enjoys restorative work and has a particular interest in the surgical aspect of dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Han enjoys curling up with a good book, video games, and loves everything food related.

Dr Tanya

DENTIST

Dr Tanya graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from University of Otago. Born in Malaysia, she is multilingual and able to converse in English, Mandarin and Malay.

Tanya enjoys helping patients achieve a healthy smile in a gentle and friendly manner. She believes in constant growth and frequently attends courses to update her knowledge.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys dancing and spending time with friends.
